Submission Guidelines

What we do and how we work

In order to ensure that all the entries in the Photography Directory Project are as accurate and relevant as possible we personally view each and every submission before adding it to the directory.

Due to the number of submissions received this process may take up to four weeks, however we are sure you will appreciate the advantages in terms of accuracy and relevance of us manually checking all submissions (rather than leaving it up to a machine, which isn't a keen photographer, to review your submission).

Submission guidelines

In order to pass the editors vetting procedure the site you are submitting must:

1 - Be a photography related website.

2 - NOT contain material of an obscene or indecent nature, or include any illigal content.

3 - Contain a reciprocal link (a link to us on your site).

When submitting a site please;

  • Do not submit the same site more than once.
  • Do not submit more than one url for the same site.
  • Do not submit mirror sites.
  • Do not submit sites which are "Under Construction".
  • Use only objective terminology when describing a site. Avoid using terms such as "best", "brilliant", "excellent", "cheapest" etc...

Any submission which fails to meet one or more of the guidelines set out on this page, attempts to use the submission process in a manner not in keeping with the spirit of the Photography Directory Project, or is for any other reason not generally suitable for a relevant and family friendly site may be rejected or removed without further notice.

In order to maintain the accuracy and relevance of the Photography Directory Project the editors reserve the right to occasionally edit listings.

No Screen Shot?

If your site is listed our directory, however a screen shot of your site isn't displayed, then your link is probably not indexed at thumbshots.org

Helpful hint

If you only ever submit your website to one other directory, the place to be listed at is the Open Directory Project (http://www.dmoz.org).

The Open Directory Project is the largest most comprehensive human-edited directory of the Web, and most importantly the data in this directory is used to populate many of the worlds leading search engines. Having your website featured in the Open Directory Project will therefore greatly increase the chances of it also becoming listed in many of the largest search engines.

We look forward to including your website in the Photography Directory Project.
